WHY ? During my working days I have friends who are teachers, some are graduates and others are not. As a teacher everyone worked very hard and I have no complained against any of them. But Sciences and Mathematics were always at the bottom. Just by co-incidence the Sciences and Math teachers were non graduates. Every time the teachers were blaming the stupid students who had been the outcasts of their previous schools. My school entry level was Form Four and they would be there only for two years. I remember a Math teacher pulled my hand to his class to show me that the students could not do simple division. It was true the students who did not do well in their PMR were the most to apply to be in Vocational schools.

A few years later the Ministry began to send graduate teachers to teach academic subjects. As usual I would discuss with the new Mathematic and Science teachers how to enhance the grade of those subjects. I told the teachers that they must not think the students are moron. The surprise came when the public exam result was out. It was the first time in history  when the achievements for both subjects were above 80 percent for Mathematics and 90 percent for Sciences. But nobody celebrated the success. Those teachers feared that they would no maintain it the next year.

The success was really a break thru. Years later the percentage of passes increased with quality and Science had been 100% for many years. With change of Principals the excellence remain.

Why with the change of non-graduate with graduate teachers performance changed ? And I tend to believe that the attitudes of the graduates is different from the non-graduates. All could have begun from the university training where students have to organize themselves and work hard to find facts. It would be a sensitive topic to talk anywhere because the effect could be very bad. However there were non-graduate who performed as well as the graduate teachers.

Then by co-incidence also I find hams who do well in CW are graduates too. Mazwan could send and read at least 45 wpm Morse. 9M2GET and his wife are catching up with high speed too. At the same time I observed several multi million air were lowly educated. Successful people had had just normal education. I found the totally uneducated parents philosophy nd thinking were high and far fetch, and they talked with great wisdoms.

I came to a conclusion which may not be true at all  successes are the result of attitudes rather than the formal education. An illiterate who struggle and work very hard to make himself able to read and write, seek his own education, start to look for knowledge from family and friends, braved himself to undertake difficult task and continue to learn unofficially eventually attain a high status in society. As such the building of attitudes is important. Both the internal and eternal force must work together to push  a person. A self motivation in believing that he can achieve anything like any other person if he works towards it  and the desire to overcome the hurdle must co-exist.

Some people blooms at the age of 40 or 60. While most of us could not remember the prayer (doa) and the surrah, we see many old folks who can recite a very long surrah and the doa. They have to be smart to be able to do so but many are not graduates.

On the other hand we observe many high profile people with superb education were making ridiculous statements and behave irrationally in front of the public. These are the politicians. And you are able to see some PHD holders do not talk facts and show complete bias without any rationality. Then the factor of attitudes would come in. Bad attitude persons are bad how educated they are, and the persons with good and positive attitudes will surely attain their desired ambitions.

My WHYNESS and the my search for the answer may not suit everyone. But I think my contention is universally true whether you agree with it or not.
